Trafford Job Clubs celebrate three years after helping more than 400 people into work
Trafford Council's Job Clubs are celebrating their third birthday this month, having supported around 1,800 residents since they first launched in September 2023.

More than 410 people have found employment after receiving support through the clubs, which run weekly at seven locations across Trafford – including two here in Sale.
Life in Sale first reported on the launch of the scheme three years ago, when the council introduced the sessions to give residents practical, face-to-face help with finding work, training and volunteering opportunities.
Since then, the Job Clubs have supported residents with everything from searching and applying for vacancies to writing CVs and cover letters, preparing for interviews and finding apprenticeships. They also provide access to IT equipment and advice on training, education, digital support and using social media as part of a job search.
As well as helping more than 410 residents into jobs, the clubs have referred over 200 people to the Work Well programme for further support. Another 239 people have connected with education or training opportunities, while 162 have taken up volunteering opportunities to help build their experience and employability.
Job Clubs in Sale
There are currently two weekly sessions in Sale:
Wednesdays, 10am–12pm at Sale West Community Centre, Newbury Avenue, Sale, M33 4QH
Thursdays, 1pm–3pm at Sale Library, Tatton Road, Sale, M33 7ZF
Sessions also take place each week in Timperley, Stretford, Urmston, Partington and Old Trafford.
The programme has also hosted regular jobs fairs during the year, with its next event doubling as a third birthday celebration. It will take place at Stretford Public Hall on Thursday 10 September from 10am, with Job Club attendees invited to join the celebrations.
Cllr Liz Patel, Trafford Council's Executive Member for Economy and Regeneration, said: "The Job Club was launched three years ago and has proved to be a huge success – supporting over 1,800 residents and finding employment for more than 400.

"The Council is committed to helping as many residents as possible find employment and the clubs are doing just that. We are committed to supporting people out of poverty through employment and the clubs also support this commitment."
