Council launches job clubs to help Sale residents looking for work

A series of job clubs have been launched by Trafford Council to help support residents who are looking for employment.

The job clubs, which officially launch on 04 September, will run at various locations across the borough – including Sale –  to support local residents with finding work, training and volunteering opportunities. 

The clubs will provide support with searching and applying for jobs; accessing job opportunities across Trafford and beyond; finding and applying for apprenticeships; CV writing; preparing for interviews; job applications and cover letters; using social media to help find work; training and education opportunities and information on digital support.

Sale’s job clubs will run on a weekly basis as follows:

  • Wednesday 10am – 12pm: Sale West Community Centre, Newbury Avenue, Sale M33 4QH

  • Thursday 1pm – 3pm: Connexions Sale, Talkshop, Tatton Road, Sale M33 7ZF

The other clubs running across Trafford will be at the following locations:

  • Monday 1 – 3pm: Broomwood Community Centre, Mainwood Road, Timperley WA15 7JF 

  • Tuesday 10am – 12pm: Stretford Library, Bennett Street, Stretford M32 8AP

  • Tuesday 1 – 3pm: Urmston Library, 34 Golden Way, Urmston M41 0NA

  • Wednesday 1 – 3pm: Your Housing Group Partington, Gilmour House, 95 Wood Lane, Partington M31 4LW

  • Thursday 10am – 12pm: St Johns Centre, St John's Road, Old Trafford, Stretford M16 7GX

Cllr Liz Patel, Trafford Council’s Executive Member for Economy and Regeneration, said: “We are delighted to be launching these new job clubs in Trafford – it is a fabulous initiative. The Council is committed to helping as many residents as possible find employment and the clubs will do just that.”  

The Council is running initial taster sessions week commencing 21 August where people can find out more about the job clubs and the support on offer.
