Sale Nomads return to Waterside with ‘Cinderella’
Sale’s annual family-friendly pantomime is back this month, with local theatre club Sale Nomads bringing Cinderella to Waterside Arts for a run of performances.
For many families, the “Sale Panto” has become a tradition, a chance to start the new year with plenty of boos, hisses and cheers as the story unfolds. Sale Nomads has been at the heart of that tradition for years, producing the town’s much-loved pantomime each January at Waterside.
This year’s show promises a classic panto take on the fairytale, with lively songs, big dance numbers, slapstick comedy and plenty of sparkle. Audiences can expect all the familiar questions too: will Cinders make it to the ball, will the Ugly Sisters get their comeuppance and will the Fairy Godmother save the day?
Performances take place in The Robert Bolt Theatre at Waterside across the following dates and times:
Friday 09 January – 7:30pm
Saturday 10 January – 2pm and 6.30pm
Sunday 11 January – 12pm and 4pm
Wednesday 14 January – 7:30pm
Thursday 15 January – 7:30pm
Friday 16 January – 7:30pm
Saturday 17 January – 2pm and 6.30pm
Sunday 18 January – 12pm
Tickets are priced at £16 standard, with concessions at £14 for under 16s and over 65s. A family ticket (two adults and two children under 16) is available at £54 on selected dates, and there is also a two-tickets-for-£20 offer on Friday 09, Wednesday 14, Thursday 15 and Friday 16 January.
The show is suitable for all ages and runs in two acts, each lasting around one hour and five minutes, with a 20-minute interval.
As well as staging the annual pantomime at Waterside, Sale Nomads also runs its own Studio Theatre in central Sale, presenting a varied programme throughout the year, from youth productions to drama and comedy.
With its mix of local talent, family-friendly fun and a well-established place in Sale’s winter calendar, Cinderella is set to be a popular January outing, particularly for families looking for a feel-good way to blow away the post-Christmas cobwebs.
