What’s on: Sale Comic Con 2026
Comic book fans, cosplayers and pop culture lovers, rejoice! Sale Comic Con is set to return on Saturday 6 June 2026.
This year’s summer edition will be the third Sale Comic Con, after the event’s debut in 2024 and a second summer return in 2025, both of which brought plenty of buzz (and some seriously impressive costumes) to the town centre.
As in previous years, the event will take place in Stanley Square and Sale Library and is free to attend, making it one of the most accessible family-friendly pop culture days in the local calendar.
Highlights to look out for:
Guest stars, former Dr Who Sylvester McCoy and actress Sophie Aldred (who played his companion Ace) will be in Sale Library from 10.30am alongside the Comic Creator Zone. At the Comic Creator Zone, you can meet writers and artists behind the comics you love
Throughout the day on Waterside Plaza, lots of children's activities are set to take place, as part of Sale Festival 2026.
In Stanley Square, comedian Chris Lumb and friends from The Discount Comedy Store will perform their family comedy show at 11.30am and 2.30pm. This is a family-friendly, interactive performance.
Stanley Square will play host to the popular cosplay competitions from 3pm. If the weather doesn't play ball, this will be relocated to Sale Library. A best-dressed competition will run for under 12s, 12 to 16s and adults, so make sure you get your best fancy dress kit ready!
In Market Way (Stanley Square), there will be the Trader's Zone, a selection of traders selling unique items as well as Doctor Who's TARDIS, Daleks, Cybermen and more.
The town centre is set to be packed with fans browsing stalls, snapping selfies with characters and props and soaking up a family-friendly atmosphere that’s helped this event quickly become a Sale favourite.
