Love Parks Week, which takes place from 25 July to 03 August, is a week-long event highlighting the vital role parks play in boosting the health and wellbeing of our residents and communities.

Throughout the week, Trafford Council will be celebrating parks across the borough, including those in Sale that were recently awarded Green Flags. Organised by Keep Britain Tidy, the campaign celebrates the beauty and importance of parks and the efforts of those who care for them.

The work of local Friends of Parks groups, local volunteers who give their time to improve and maintain Trafford’s green spaces, will also be recognised. From planting and weeding to creating wildlife habitats and organising community events, these groups help make our parks welcoming and vibrant.

Councillor Stephen Adshead, Trafford Council’s Executive Member for Highways, Environmental & Traded Services said: “Here in Trafford we are extremely lucky and proud to have such beautiful parks and green spaces – 12 of which were recently given Green Flags. They are incredibly important and are perfect places for people to enjoy a walk, a picnic or get close to nature.

“This Council is committed to addressing the climate crisis and offering culture, sport and heritage for everyone and we feel that our parks are reflective of our aims. During Love Parks Week, we are encouraging even more people to support the local parks right on their doorstep, take advantage of all they have to offer and help us to keep them clean, tidy, safe and welcoming.”
