🎨 Places to get creative

‘Sip & Paint’ events make great date nights © Pop-Up Painting

Sip & Paint from Pop-Up Painting

Pop Up Painting hosts regular ‘Sip & Paint’ evenings at Sale’s Slug & Lettuce and The Brooklands Tap. The perfect date night activity with a difference!

Unleash your creativity – wine glass in one hand, paintbrush in the other. And don’t worry if you’re not a ‘natural’ artist – complete beginners are super welcome and while you’ll get guidance from an actual artist, you’re encouraged to have fun and go off-piste!

Try kokedama with Common Room © Common Room Social Workshops

Common Room Social Workshops

If you know that a creative date is the direction you want to go in, try an event from Common Room Social Workshops. Usually hosted at Slug & Lettuce Waterside, workshops include terrarium making, kokedama, jesmonite and air-dry clay making. And if you don't know what any of those are, we highly recommend checking out Common Room's full list of events.

Bean & Brush Art Cafe ‘painting after hours’

Bean & Brush Art Cafe hosts 'painting after hours' every Thursday, 6-9pm. Simply choose a pot, pick up a paintbrush and let your inner Picasso out! Nachos, cakes and hot drinks are available from the cafe, or you can bring in something stronger from the cafe's neighbour, Rum Rabbit Run.

Pottery painting starts from £8.95 with most pots costing under £20, so there's something for most price ranges. To book, call Bean & Brush Art Cafe on 0161 973 2140.

😂 Have a laugh at local comedy nights

As that old cliche goes, “a couple that laughs together, stays together”, so have your next Sale date night at a local comedy evening. Popular local theatre Waterside hosts both well-known and up-and-coming comedians.

Hops & Boogie, one of Sale’s best independent bars, also hosts a regular comedy night with Bee Funny Comedy. These events are announced via social media, so give the bar a follow on Instagram (@hopsandboogie) to stay up to date with the latest events.
