Trafford Volunteer Fair to take place at Sale Library in June

Sale residents are being invited to celebrate the borough's volunteers at a special event next month.

The Trafford Volunteer Fair will take place on Monday 02 June from 4pm to 6pm at Sale Library.

The event, part of Volunteers' Week, is a free, family-friendly gathering of charities and community groups.

Attendees will have the chance to chat with organisations from the area, try interactive activities and explore volunteering opportunities in the borough.

According to the council, it is estimated that there are more than 1,622 voluntary and community organisations in the borough, contributing around £139 million to the economy.

There are an estimated 34,062 volunteers supporting the Volunteer, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector.

Cllr Rose Thompson, the council’s executive member for communities and safety, said: "We are extremely proud of the thousands of volunteers in Trafford who work very hard supporting a number of organisations.

"Why not come along to the event and learn more?

"You may even fancy volunteering yourself and becoming one of the many heroes who help support our VCFSE sector."

The event is free, with refreshments available and residents can simply turn up on the day.
