To mark the change, the pub is hosting a family fun day this Saturday (02 May), with entertainment running across the day for both children and adults. Families can expect kids’ entertainment from 12pm to 3pm, alongside a kids’ obstacle course, before the day moves into an open mic session from 4pm to 7pm. A live band from 9pm will round things off in the evening.

There will also be a couple of offers to tempt people in, with kids able to eat for £1 and 20 per cent off the new food menu on the day.

The renaming is a notable moment for a pub that many locals will already know well. The venue was renamed Sam Brooks following a major Hydes Brewery refurbishment in 2014, having previously been called The Manor. The return to its former title appears to be a nod to the pub’s history on Manor Avenue.

For locals, Saturday’s event looks like a good excuse to pop in, see the pub’s next chapter for themselves and make the most of the family-friendly offers.
