Beloved Sale restaurant The Perfect Match to close in the new year

One of Sale’s most-loved independent restaurants, The Perfect Match, will close in January.

Owners Andrea and Jazz have confirmed to Life in Sale that, after more than six years at the heart of the town’s food scene, they have made the difficult decision to bring this chapter to an end.

In a heartfelt message, they told Life in Sale: “After over six years, we have decided to close The Perfect Match. It has been a fantastic journey, with a lot of joy, great food and wine and we want to take the opportunity to thank everybody for their support over the years – it has meant more than you will ever know!”

They added that the decision has not been taken lightly: “We have given our best to The Perfect Match and even if it has been very rewarding and enjoyable through the tough times and the slightly easier ones, we feel that we are ready for something else in our professional and personal life. It has not been an easy decision and we will miss it, however we feel this is the best direction for us.”

The restaurant, which has become a real jewel in Sale’s food crown, is known for its carefully curated wine list, thoughtful menus and warm, personal service. It’s one of those places people recommend for birthdays, anniversaries and “we just fancy something special” dinners – and its loss will be felt by regulars and the wider community alike.

The final service will take place on Sunday 25 January 2026. Until then, it will be business as usual.

Rather than taking their usual annual break in January, Andrea and Jazz have chosen to stay open so that customers have a chance to visit one last time, raise a glass and say their goodbyes in person.

While it’s undeniably sad news for Sale, it’s also a moment to recognise just how much The Perfect Match has brought to the town – helping to put our local restaurant scene on the map and proving that independent, quality-led dining can thrive here.

We’ll miss The Perfect Match very much, but we also wish Andrea and Jazz every happiness and success in whatever comes next.
