The Sale parks celebrating Green Flag Awards 2026

Three of Sale’s parks and green spaces are once again proudly flying their Green Flags, having been recognised as some of the best green spaces in the world. 

The award-winning parks in Sale are Walkden Gardens, Walton Park and Worthington Park. 

These parks are managed by the One Trafford Partnership, in collaboration with volunteer Friends of Parks groups. Their efforts ensure that the parks consistently meet the standards required for the Green Flag Award throughout the year, which include aesthetics, horticulture, biodiversity, community involvement, historical features and conservation standards.

Overall, the borough of Trafford is celebrating 12 Green Flag-awarded parks and green spaces.

A spokesperson for One Trafford said: “This award is a testament to the dedication and collaboration of everyone involved in caring for our parks and green spaces.

"We would like to thank the many volunteers whose commitment helps make these spaces so welcoming for local communities.

“We are also grateful to our operational teams whose hard work throughout the year ensures our parks are maintained to the standards we expect, and to our experienced Green Space Officers whose extensive knowledge, guidance and long-term stewardship play a vital role in the successful management of these sites.”
