Sale care home nominated for national award
The team at a care home in Sale is celebrating after being recognised for its exceptional care and commitment to residents.
Care UK’s Oakfield Croft has been shortlisted in the North Care Home of the Year category of the Caring UK Awards, which champion and reward excellence and team effort in care homes across the UK.
Oakfield Croft was nominated for its strong team culture and resident-focused ethos. The team is dedicated to delivering person-centred care from day one, supporting residents to live fulfilled and enriched lives. Residents help shape daily activities and decisions and individual wishes are respected, including end-of-life care, where the team has worked with community nurses to honour final requests.
Oakfield Croft also plays an active role in the local community, hosting dementia cafés, summer fetes and Blue Light breakfasts to connect with fellow healthcare professionals.
Roxanne Walsh, home manager at Oakfield Croft, said: “We’re incredibly proud to be shortlisted for this award.
“Opening during lockdown was a true test, but it brought us together in a way that continues to shape our culture and care. Every resident is part of our extended family, and we’re committed to helping them live fulfilled, enriched lives.
“We’re also passionate about supporting our team to grow. Many of our colleagues have progressed into new roles and we’re proud to nurture talent from within.”
The awards will take place at Athena in Leicester on Thursday 04 December.
