Sale artist Patrick Astwood unveils bold ‘Gods & Monsters’ home décor collection
Classical mythology and oversized florals come to life in this striking new home decor collection.
Oversized mythological figures set among verdant and vibrant floral landscapes are brought to life in a new art-inspired maximalist interior decor collection, Gods & Monsters, by Sale-based artist and designer Patrick Astwood.
The collection, designed to challenge the traditional conventions of interior design and scale, focuses among others on silk cushions and striking wall murals that will add drama and energy to any home or a commercial interior.
The sense of theatre and juxtaposition of the motifs is no accident coming from an artist with a background in film and music. There’s a strong storytelling element to the statement pieces and that, coupled with their imposing scale and dynamism, will certainly create a unique focal point to any interior space.
“As an artist, I’m always seeking to push the boundaries and go against convention, and there’s no doubt that my new Gods & Monsters collection challenges the notions of scale and subtlety in interiors,” said Patrick.
“Gods & Monsters is a self-contained aesthetic universe and interiors brand that combines ancient mythology, obscure mystical symbolism, heraldry as well as contemporary pop art techniques and printmaking. It is a bold and brash celebration of illustration, digital design and decorative symbolism.”
The new collection available on patrickastwood.com features silk feather down cushions with gold braiding, vibrant cotton bespoke lampshades, intriguing wallpapers and striking wall art and murals. The custom-sized murals and wallpapers are also available on demand via Happy Wall and are eco-friendly, easy to install and non-woven.
“I want to really shake-up the interior decor market,” added Patrick. “By creating striking, clashing patterns and statement pieces that really evoke emotion and provoke intrigue, I hope that my designs will appeal to those who want something daring and different in their homes, hospitality venues or commercial interior spaces.”
