There’s something sweet to celebrate for Manchester Honey Company after the Sale-based honey business enjoyed double success at the 2026 Female Business Awards.
Louise Trehearn (pictured above), co-founder of Manchester Honey Company, took home the Founder’s Choice Award and was also named runner-up in the Best Product category at the national awards ceremony, held at the Victoria & Albert Marriott Hotel in Manchester last week.
Now in their fifth year, the Female Business Awards recognise the achievements of female entrepreneurs from across the UK, celebrating their innovation, hard work and contributions to their communities.
Manchester Honey Company produces pure, natural local honey sold by postcode (including one from right here in M33), alongside a range of bee-derived products. The business has built a loyal following through its commitment to sustainable beekeeping and local produce.
Louise's surprise Founder’s Choice Award win was another highlight of the evening, with judges praising her ability to grow the business while staying true to its values.
Speaking about her success, Louise said: “Winning the Founder’s Choice Award was a total shock and an immense honour for our entire team.
“To have our dedication to local quality, sustainable beekeeping, and community impact recognised on a national level alongside 175 incredible businesses is truly unforgettable.”
Reflecting on the evening, Louise added: “The atmosphere in the room was electric. Surrounding ourselves with so many inspiring, driven female founders was empowering in itself, but taking home two awards was the absolute high point of our journey so far.”
Following her double success, Louise is hoping to introduce Manchester Honey Company to even more customers across Greater Manchester and beyond.
And Louise wasn't the only local business owner celebrating on the night. Sale business Emily Lisbeth Jewellery also enjoyed success, winning the Best Creative Business award.
