Full list of road improvements across Sale
Road improvement works are set to begin across Sale.
The surface dressing scheme, part of Trafford Council’s annual maintenance programme, will include areas of Brooklands, Sale Central and Sale Moor, beginning on or shortly after 30 June and continuing for two weeks.
Work involves spraying hot bitumen onto the road, spreading small chippings on top and rolling the surface to embed the stones.
Cllr Stephen Adshead, Trafford Council’s executive member for highways, environmental and traded services, said: "The One Trafford Partnership is committed to continuing to improve our highways in the interest of safety and keeping them properly maintained.
"We apologise in advance if these works cause some disruption and noise, we will do everything to minimise any inconvenience."
The treatment is designed to seal the road surface, prevent water damage, improve vehicle grip and extend the life of the road without the need for full resurfacing.
The One Trafford Partnership, a collaboration between Trafford Council and Amey, will carry out the work.
Access for residents, pedestrians, waste collections and emergency vehicles will be maintained where possible during the works.
The Sale roads to be improved are:
Cromer Road, Brooklands
Clarendon Crescent, Sale Central
Roebuck Lane, Sale Central
Clarendon Road, from Carlyn Avenue to Northenden Road, Sale Moor
Daisyhill Close, Sale Moor
Evesham Grove, Sale Moor
Hampson Street, Sale Moor
James Street, from Alice Street to Northenden Road, Sale Moor
Northenden Road, from Norris Road to Wythenshawe Road, Sale Moor
The surface dressing method is a preventative measure that helps reduce the risk of potholes by sealing the road against water ingress.
It also improves road safety by enhancing surface grip.
Trafford Council advises that good road maintenance supports the local economy by keeping transport routes reliable.
Residents will receive written notice of the planned works in advance.
