New dim sum restaurant opens in Stanley Square
A new restaurant serving authentic dim sum has opened in Sale's Stanley Square today (Wednesday 24 June).
Dim Sum House serves a menu of traditional small plates and dumpling dishes. The restaurant has taken over the Stanley Square that was previously home to Roti, which closed earlier this year.
The menu includes dim sum favourites such as Sui Mai, beef dumplings, Sin Jok rolls, honeycomb tripe, stuffed rice rolls and crispy fried wonton.
Its opening adds another new food and drink name to Stanley Square, which has become one of Sale's busiest spots for eating out. Over the past few years, the Square has attracted a growing mix of businesses, from restaurants and cafés to leisure, workspace, cinema and fitness. That mix has helped turn the area into more than a shopping precinct, with many of its restaurants now giving people a reason to visit Sale during the day and into the evening.
The arrival of Dim Sum House also follows a period of change for Stanley Square. Late last year, the 160,000 sq ft retail and leisure complex was acquired by US hedge fund Magnetar, with Altered Space kept on as asset manager. Altered Space has been behind Stanley Square's repositioning, with the Square now home to a mix of independents, food and drink operators and larger names.
Dim Sum House is the latest arrival in what has become a much more varied town centre destination. So... anyone up for dim sum?
