Jackson House opens new coworking space in Sale

There’s a lot to like about working from home, but there are also days when the spare room feels very small by 2pm. For anyone who likes the freedom of remote or hybrid working but would quite like somewhere else to go, Jackson House has opened a new coworking space in Sale, giving local professionals their own full-time desk without the commitment of taking on a conventional office.

The dedicated 12-desk coworking studio costs £250 + VAT per desk, per month, with access seven days a week. Members also get access to Jackson House’s wider facilities, including bookable meeting rooms, an onsite gym, reception and concierge services – plus Bean Coffee, one of the best hidden gems in Sale. 

In other words, it’s a proper place to work, somewhere to meet clients or colleagues and a few useful extras that you probably don’t have next to the kitchen table!

A coworking space in Sale where the desk is all yours

Jackson House already has a Coworking Café, which can be used free of charge for one day per week, per user. That remains an option if you just need an occasional change of scenery. The new coworking studio is designed for something different.

For £250 + VAT per month, you get your own desk within a dedicated 12-desk workspace. Having a permanent desk space makes a big difference if you’re looking for a regular working base; there’s no hunting for a plug socket, setting everything up again each morning or carrying your working life around in a laptop bag. The room itself is fully lockable, so appropriate belongings can be left behind and your desk can start to feel like your own space rather than somewhere you have temporarily landed for the day.

There’s also a kitchen specifically for the coworking space.

This new coworking space sits somewhere between working from home and renting your own office: you have a professional base and a desk that belongs to you, but you’re sharing the wider setup with other people.

More than somewhere to open your laptop

One of the downsides of working independently is that the things a larger office provides can quickly become separate expenses or logistical headaches. 

Need to meet a client? You might need to find and book somewhere suitable.

Want to fit a workout into the working day? That usually means paying for a separate gym membership and travelling somewhere else.

At Jackson House, coworking members have access to the wider building facilities, including bookable meeting rooms, free use of the onsite gym and PT-led fitness classes. For someone who occasionally needs a more professional setting for a meeting but doesn’t need an entire private office of their own, having meeting facilities available within the same building is particularly useful. And the same goes for the gym; you might actually manage a lunchtime workout when it involves going to another part of the building rather than persuading yourself to leave the house again at 6pm!

There’s also a reception and concierge service, making the whole setup an established workplace rather than a casual hot-desking room. And yes, there’s good coffee!

Is Jackson House coworking right for you?

Not everyone working remotely needs an office – the appeal of flexible working is being able to choose where you work best. Some people are perfectly happy working from home every day. Others enjoy it most of the time but miss having people around them. And some discover that the dining table was a perfectly good temporary office, but a less appealing permanent one.

And, of course, Bean Coffee for when your own coffee-making efforts aren’t going to cut it!

There is a three-month minimum initial term, after which the arrangement moves onto a one-month rolling contract.
