Trafford Council has now revealed the full list of 23 priority routes set to benefit from full resurfacing over the next 12 months, following the £5m pothole boost announced last month.
In Sale, work is planned for:
Norris Road, Brooklands: Sections between Brooklands Road and Craddock Road, extending improvements that were already planned.
Old Hall Road, Sale Moor: Sections between Dane Road and the M60 west slip road and roundabout.
Trafford has been awarded £4.99m through Greater Manchester Combined Authority’s Transport Pipeline Funding Allocations programme, in addition to the road repairs and improvements already planned by the council this year. Of that funding, £3.965m will go towards full resurfacing across the 23 priority routes, with work already under way in some locations.
A further £525,000 has been allocated for local patching repairs over the next five months, while £500,000 will fund additional surface treatments in spring 2027, designed to help keep roads in serviceable condition for longer.
The resurfacing locations have been selected in line with Trafford Council's Highway Infrastructure Asset Management Plan, with the council identifying roads most in need of improvement.
Cllr Stephen Adshead, Trafford Council's Executive Member for Highways and Environmental Services, said the additional funding was "good news for anyone who travels around Trafford", adding that further patching and surface treatment work would follow the resurfacing programme.
The council has warned that individual schemes could still be adjusted depending on site conditions, costs or issues such as emergency utility works.
