Time to light up Sale Moor: Community appeal for Christmas lights

The countdown to Christmas has begun and Sale Moor is once again gearing up to sparkle – but the village needs the community’s support to make it happen.
Last year, the village saw its most impressive festive display yet, with enhanced Christmas lights bringing colour and festive cheer to Sale Moor. The lights have become a much-loved tradition, boosting local businesses and bringing a sense of community spirit to the village.
But keeping Sale Moor shining is only possible with the help of local residents and businesses. This year, organisers are calling on the community to chip in and help fund the 2025 display.
There are lots of easy ways to donate:
Play the Sale Moor Village Lottery – support the lights all year round while being in with a chance to win.
Drop cash in local collection tins – you’ll find them in Hugall’s Chemist, Fantastic - No Plastic Zero Waste Store, Pick and Pay and EweMove Sale Estate Agents.
The community lottery has already proved a popular way to support the cause, but extra funds are still needed to cover the cost of installation, electricity and ongoing improvements.
