Sale Moor’s Sale Moon named among the UK's best coffee shops – now in the running for a world top 100 place
An independent coffee spot in Sale Moor has been given a huge national nod – and now has its sights set on the global stage.
Sale Moon has been selected as one of the UK's best coffee shops and is officially in the running for a place on The World's 100 Best Coffee Shops list.
The UK shortlist celebrates excellence in the speciality coffee scene, spotlighting coffee shops that consistently deliver on quality, craft and community. Selection is based on a wide-ranging set of criteria, including the quality of coffee, barista expertise, customer service, innovation, atmosphere, sustainable practices, food and pastry offering, consistency and community.
Since opening in Sale Moor in February 2024, Sale Moon has quickly built a loyal following locally, becoming a firm favourite for residents who value carefully made coffee in a welcoming, thoughtfully designed space. But its reputation now stretches well beyond M33, with coffee fans travelling to Sale specifically to experience what the café has to offer.
The recognition puts Sale Moon alongside some of the most respected names in UK speciality coffee and marks a major milestone for the independent business.
The final World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops list will be published on 16 February, when it will be revealed whether Sale Moon has secured a place among the world’s elite coffee destinations.
