Review: The slice is right | Ceresis, the new Italian takeaway in Sale Moor

Are you tired of the same old greasy takeaway pizzas? Then look no further than Ceresis, the new Italian takeaway in Sale Moor that specialises in square-cut Roman pizza ‘Al taglio’. Al taglio, which translates as ‘by the cut’ in English means you can easily eat your slices on the go, or take them home to devour.

Located right in the heart of Sale Moor village, Ceresis offers a unique takeaway experience with its authentic square-cut pizzas. 

On our lunchtime visit, we opted for a slice of the Margherita, a spicy salami and oyster mushroom (pizza slice prices start from £3.50). All three slices were delicious – the crust crisp and light, with just the right amount of char from the oven. The toppings are fresh and packed with flavour. Plus, the square cut allows for more crust per bite. On each of the slices, the tomato sauce was savoury and well-balanced, and the cheese is melted to perfection. If you are planning on eating your slices on the move, staff will happily heat them up in the oven (it won’t impact the flavour), or you can heat them up at home but “never in the microwave!”, as we were firmly told! 

The food aside, what gives Ceresis the chance to stand out from the crowd is its friendly and knowledgeable staff. So often takeaway venues forget the customer service side of things, but not here. A family-run small business, staff are very happy to make recommendations and answer any questions you may have about the menu. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it the perfect spot for a casual takeaway lunch or dinner. It genuinely felt like we’d nipped to Rome for a quick lunch! 

But Ceresis isn't just about pizza, they also offer a variety of traditional Italian dishes such as lasagne, gnocchi (on Thursdays) and calzone. For a small shop, their menu is pretty extensive and is likely to cater for a range of tastes. 

Ceresis also offers an event catering service, where they can supply full pizza trays for parties, work functions or dinner parties when you don’t feel like doing the cooking. 

If you're looking for a high-quality pizza takeaway, we strongly suggest you give Ceresis a try ASAP. You won't be disappointed. With its authentic square-cut pizzas, homemade pasta and super friendly staff, it is sure to quickly become your go-to pizza takeaway in Sale.
